COMPETITION

The Ticino section of The Federation of Swiss Architects (FAS Ticino) is launching a competition on the theme the world of tomorrow. The competition is open to all architecture students enrolled at a Swiss university and architects no older than 30 years old with residency in Switzerland.

From one day to another a virus emptied our public spaces and forced us to retreat into our homes. This provided us with the opportunity to reflect upon the consequences of this health crisis and the effect that it may have on the world around us,
on our cities, our collective and private spaces.

Will the world of tomorrow be different? If so, in what way, what will it look like? Could this new world be better than the one
we were living in?

These questions are waiting to be addressed with an idea, a vision, a statement. We are not expecting a comprehensive study, but a well-considered position or approach.

A crisis in society creates opportunities for a re-appraisal of our future, and it is incumbent on our profession to reflect upon and visualize what this future could be.
